Days Are Getting Cooler
We’re finally starting to see more daytime temperatures here in Nashville around the 60s and 70s. The night temps are dropping too. That can mean only one thing in my backyard…feeding activity is picking up as the little ones burn more fuel to stay warm.
This leaves me asking you one important question…
Have You Cleaned Your Feeders Yet?
I’m nobody to point a finger. I just realized this week that I still haven’t cleaned ALL of my feeders. I’ve tried the “little at a time” method but it’s obvious the only way I’m going to get this done is to fill a bathtub with warm water, bleach and soap and get it done. I’ve even got a brand new tube feeder brush I stare at each time I get out food. Shame on me!
Don’t Be Like Jeff
Set aside an hour or so one night this week(or a few nights depending on how many feeders you have)and just clean those feeders. If you don’t have time or a warm place to let them dry, get out the hair dryer. The latter is the method I’ll employ because the only place I have to hang them is my garage which does not have sunlight nor is warm.
Finally, share with me any tips you have for making a molehill out of this apparent mountain. I’d love to hear from you.
