First Look at the Leica Ultravid HD 10×42 Binoculars

Most bird watchers like to have the best set of binoculars they can afford. Our hobby is a true passion for many. A lifelong enjoyment of nature and her feathered creatures. A great set of binoculars becomes a trusted partner in the pleasure we find. Often gaining sentimental significance as the years of outstanding performance mount up. That attitude leads many to purchase a best-in-class set of glasses like the Leica Ultravid HD 10×42 Binoculars. Less expensive sets offer many of the same features, but generally lack the same level of quality and durability.

Focus on Features

The Leica Ultravid HD 10×42 binoculars magnification and field of view offers excellent flexibility for birdwatching in various settings. The advanced optical lenses feature new coatings to enhance light transmission. All while delivering outstanding image quality. In low light settings, you’ll enjoy a views the unaided eye would not. Fluoride glass improves color contrast and brightness. Giving incredible differentiation and detail, even at great distances. Light scattering is decreased and color aberration is reduced. Having the same glass-coating technology found in the world’s best ultra-zoom camera lenses.

Those sporting the Leica Ultravid HD 10×42 Binoculars also appreciate the light weight. The body made of magnesium, which is very strong, so corrosion and durability are not an issue. They are completely waterproof to 16.5 feet. These binoculars easily stand up to all kinds of wet settings encountered. Whether enjoying the views in woods, fields, or on lakes and mountainsides. Taking them from the warm car to freezing cold outdoor conditions doesn’t cause fogging of the lenses. When we get to our destination, they are ready to perform.

The Big Picture

These binoculars represent a pretty large investment. If you’ve been birding for a few years then you might want to spend the money. Especially if you’re confident you’ve found a hobby you won’t tire of in years to come. Maybe you’ve already made up your mind that you want a top of the line set of binoculars. Then, this set with their outstanding optics and usability, might be just what you’re looking for.
