Never Dreamed I’d Make It
When I wrote my first blog post in July of 2008, I was all about setting up an ecommerce site that would be close to my heart. I love spending time just watching birds and I’ve learned a whole lot about what works and what doesn’t in the backyard. My neighbors think I’m insane because I’m the guy staring down nuisance birds in my backyard until they fly off. I’m also the one that stands by the feeders with my arms outstretched getting birds to hand feed from me. I must admit, until you have success with this you can look pretty ridiculous just standing there like a tree trying not to move.
Then, something happened…
I realized that money is ok but my real purpose for this site is to help regular people enjoy the birds in their backyards as much as I do mine. I also wanted to make sure they could benefit from my acquired knowledge so they could get to enjoy them faster and cheaper than I have. After all, my very first experience with birdfeeding was putting up a platform feeder with sunflower seed and watching it be taken over by grackles. Little by little, I’ve learned tricks that have allowed me to have almost no nuisance birds in my backyard at all. I’ve fed in a manner that has excluded or discouraged most of the birds I see as pests.
I Hope I’ve Been Helpful
My sincerest hope is that you’ve been able to learn something from me that made your backyard birding that much more enjoyable. I plan many more tips and tricks type articles as well as stories of my experiences to help you along the way. Stay tuned in the months and years to come when we add new features, contests and even a forum. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
